A few old Senanayakians, working and living in the State of Qatar, decided to form a branch in Qatar of the Main DSSC OBA and their ideas materialised with the formation of DSSC OBA Qatar Branch in 2012. The inaugural meeting was held at the Gulf Paradise Hotel and a committee headed by the founder President, Mr Tilak Ekanayake was established.
Today, the DSSC OBA QB boasts of a membership of over 50 Senanayakian. Through the various social, charitable and CRS activities, the association builds fellowship and brotherhood amongst the old Senanayakians and also provides much needed financial assistance for the welfare of the students, teachers and staff members of DSSC Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Dons emerged champions in the Bowl division, beating St. Annes College at Dark Horse Super 6s cricket tournament organized by St. Sylvesters OBA Doha.
Dons and their families got together for an 70's themed evening of music and enjoyment.
In collaboration with 50th golden jubilee celebrations, DS OBA Qatar renovated the primary school toilet facilities as a brotherly gesture towards future Senanayakiens.
In response to a request for donation for flood victims in Sri Lanka, the D.S.Senanayake College Old Boys’ Association Qatar donated sanitary items and school bags to the Sri Lankan embassy in Qatar for distribution in Sri Lanka
In celebration for the dawn of Holy month of Ramadan, DSSC OBA Qatar held an Ifthar Dinner for members and their families at the Lakbima Grand Restaurant, Industrial Area.
5th Annual General Meeting of the D.S.S.C OBA Qatar was held at Horizon Mannar Hotel, Doha
D.S.S.C OBA Qatar members took part at the Sooriya Mangalyaya New Year festival organized by Mahanama College OBA Qatar.
DSSC OBA Qatar emerged champions in both division A & B, at the 3rd Annual Battle of the Golds Qatar encounter beating Mahanama College OBA at QP Cricket ground, Mesaeed.
Dons Premier League (DPL) 2017 saw our members in Qatar join 4 teams (Weera, Sura, Meththa, Shantha) and battle to be the Champion at Inaugural DPL Championship. Team Meththa emerged champions beating Team Shantha at the finals.
A General Meeting was held on 31st December, 2016 to inform OBA members on progress of OBA initiated projects and to introduce future projects. President of DS Main OBA, Mr. Susantha Dissanayake was also present at the meeting and spoke few words after witnessing the progress achieved by OBA Qatar branch. Player auction for the Donz Premier League 2017 also took place at the meeting.
Organized by St.Sylvester's OBA Doha, Donz the defending champs reached semi finals. Wesly College emerged champions at the tournament.
DSSC OBA Qatar took part in an overall effort by the Old Senanayakiens Buddhist Society to renovate the DSSC Hostel premises at Gregory's Road. DSSC OBA Qatar donated 10 fans.
Donz touch rubgy team took the field at the Lions Touch Rugby 7s organized by Lanka Lions Rugby Football Club.

As we all are professionally entered this respectable country with our personal goals, It is an enthusiastic buffer to get involved in social activities via DSSC OBA QA. Throughout its history since 2012, the DSSC OBA has been a powerful among its peer OBA which operates under the patronage of Sri Lankan Embassy to Qatar. I’m alongside you are prepared to do well in relationship building and social activities during my tenure as your President with internal and external counterparts. I am a firm believer in the importance of disciplined happiness which will drive the membership more towards its social activities and achievements which we have performed well in the areas of all the sports events we participate among all peer OBA’s in the country. D S Senanayake College, situated in Colombo 07 (Cinnamon Gardens) is currently one of the premiere educational institutes in Sri Lanka. It was established on 10 February 1967 as a public national school in Sri Lanka and named after the first Prime Minister of Independent Sri Lanka, Rt. Honourable D S Senanayake. Its founder principal, Late Mr R I T Alles served the school from its inception in 1967 to 19.
Within a short span of history, it has been able to gain many achievements of excellence both in the academic and non–academic fields, locally and internationally. Today, we are proud to proclaim DSSC as a truly multi–ethnic and a multi–religious College which has proudly created unblemished and prestigious records of excellence in academia, sport and community leadership culminating being an institute of highly innovative and patriotic individuals to Sri Lanka. The school current has an enrolment of over 6,000 students with an academic staff over 275. It is among the most desired schools in Colombo. The school is listed among the National Schools, which come under the administration of the Ministry of Education, thus has direct funding from the ministry.
D S Senanayake College provides education to students from Grade 1 to 13 in Sinhala, Tamil and English mediums. It also provides Mathematics, Science, Commerce and Arts fields for the Advance Level Examinations. The School is fully equipped with Modern Classrooms, Multiple Science Laboratories, Computer Laboratories, Ground and Sports Complex for sports activities. It also has more than 35 Clubs, Societies and Associations engaged in all types of co-curricular activities. There are a wide range of sporting activities, be it the track, field or water.
D.S Senanayake College has made a rapid growth in a short period of 45 years. It was the sole commitment of the administration of the school, teachers, parents and students and the past pupils working together to achieve a common goal. Their path was always not cleared. It was a harsh climb to the top, with a lot of sweat, blood and tears in the path that we walked by. Our founding Principal, Late Mr R I T Alles always proudly says” D S was not built off the pocket of the rich man, but of the hand of the humble poor man.”
